China's medical and health industry will usher in a golden period of development

According to the preliminary calculation of the Health Development Research Center, the total scale of the national health service industry (the added value of the health industry) is expected to be 6.4 trillion billion yuan in 2018, an increase of about 12.4 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 7.08 percent of GDP.
According to the data of the health development research center, as of the end of June 2018, there were 31710 hospitals in China, including 12121 public hospitals and 19589 private hospitals, accounting for 61.8 percent of the total. The growth of the main business income of the pharmaceutical industry accelerated, and the main business income of enterprises above designated size reached 2.98 trillion yuan in 2017.
Zhang Yuhui believes that speeding up the establishment of the core policy system of China's health industry should stimulate the vitality of social forces, effectively relax industry access, improve the guarantee of social forces and support multiple subjects to become bigger and stronger. At the same time, efforts will be made in health tourism, health care and Internet smart health to promote the integrated development of the health industry.
The reporter learned that at present, under the influence of national encouragement policies and supply-side structural reforms, a number of park bases have been deployed around high-end medical care, health care, leisure and fitness. In general, several development models have been explored. The first is to take the high-end frontier of the health industry as the main body and the integrated development of medical education and research. For example, Beijing, Shanghai and other places, led by health science and technology innovation, gather high-tech and high-growth enterprises at home and abroad, have a good platform for innovation and entrepreneurship, and encourage the development of "unicorn" enterprises in the field of health industry.
The second is to rely on resource endowments and model innovation to diversify and differentiate development. For example, Guizhou, Yunnan and other places have actively carried out new business type and new model innovation by giving full play to their resource advantages and exploring characteristic culture, creating advantageous industries in the fields of traditional Chinese medicine, ethnic medicine, health big data, international health tourism, and poverty alleviation in the health industry, so as to form local highlands and strive to overtake in corners.
Third, the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries is the driving force, focusing on integrated development. For example, the industrial chain extends from the cultivation of medicinal materials to the service of characteristic traditional Chinese medicine; from the production and manufacture of sports equipment to the integration and upgrading of intelligent health and physical medicine; relying on tourist attractions to expand leisure and health care, rehabilitation and recuperation services.
