"over the past 30 years of reform and opening up, the facts of the development of medicine and health in China have proved that the western medical thought of disease, because of its lack of a holistic view, has caused various social contradictions represented by 'difficult and expensive to see a doctor." Yu Mengsun, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering and founder of aviation medicine, said at the first traditional Chinese medicine culture forum held in Yanting County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province in 2017.

Yu Mengsun believes that the only way to solve this contradiction is to implement the health strategy in the whole society, "turning the treatment of diseases as the center into the health of the people as the center". The foundation of traditional Chinese medicine is the holistic view, and the main feature is the health culture. Therefore, it is a rare good opportunity to develop and revitalize traditional Chinese medicine in China.

This forum, co-sponsored by 14 units including the Special Committee of Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, not only commemorates the ancestor of Chinese medicine who left such a precious cultural heritage as the Huangdi Neijing for mankind, but also to jointly promote Chinese medicine. The revival of culture.

As Xiang Yun, the county magistrate of Yanting County, said, today, the unique curative effects and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine have become increasingly prominent. The international community has realized that the health concept of traditional Chinese medicine, the complementarity of medical practice and modern medicine will have a profound impact on human health. It has become a trend to develop traditional medicine represented by traditional Chinese medicine to better serve human health.

Serving the pharmaceutical industry to serving people

"If you have medical skills, you cannot practice medicine. If you have good drugs, you are not allowed to go on the market. What is the problem?" lei Yuan, deputy director of the Institute of History and Culture of Peking University and dean of Tang Yongtong National College, believes that the current medical system includes law, academics, education, etc., and the purpose is to serve the Western medicine industry. According to the Western medicine standards as academic standards and legislative standards, use academics, education and laws to protect oneself and crack down on all cultures that harm one's own interests, the most important of which is Chinese medicine. In this system, medicine does not serve people, people become slaves to the pharmaceutical industry.

Although the obstacles cannot be ignored, there are some good signs in the development of Chinese medicine.

Su Xun, an independent scholar of Chinese medicine and Chinese studies, is concerned that in recent years, some moxibustion halls and pediatric massage halls have appeared on the market to relieve the pain of patients without taking medicine or injections. They are very popular with the people and make considerable profits. In recent years, the simple, convenient, tested, and inexpensive Sanfu stickers launched by various Chinese medicine institutions are also very popular.

In Yanting, some local people often pick the Chinese herbal medicines here when their families are sick, which is cheap and effective.

Yanting is rich in Chinese herbal medicine resources. Yuan Ming, secretary of the Yanting County Party Committee, revealed that there are more than 1700 kinds of common wild Chinese medicinal materials in Yanting, and more than 40 kinds of Chinese medicinal materials are planted. In recent years, Yanting has regarded the Chinese medicine industry as one of the leading industries in the county. There are now more than 40 Chinese medicinal materials planting bases and planting units.

The development of Chinese medicine ushered in a major historical progress

Since modern times, Chinese medicine has experienced hardships. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, although the party and the government have always emphasized the policy of "equal emphasis on Chinese and Western medicine", the questioning, criticism and suppression of Chinese medicine still occur from time to time.

Chen Quiguang, head of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that due to ideological deviations and defects in some systems and mechanisms in the field of medicine and health, it is particularly obvious that the thinking and methods of Western medicine are simply applied to require and manage Chinese medicine, from education, scientific research, clinical practice to the processing and manufacturing industry. As a result, many Chinese medicine institutions and practitioners deviate from the basic principles of Chinese medicine and their own development laws, abandon the original characteristics and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine, especially authentic traditional Chinese medicine, and embark on the road of "Westernization.

Some Chinese medicine hospitals neither "letter" nor "line". Chinese doctors will not use the overall thinking of traditional Chinese medicine to diagnose and treat syndromes, but will only use the names of western medicine to diagnose diseases. They will treat headaches and feet. They will "live a good life" by prescribe proprietary Chinese medicines, western medicines or even operations. They will not use external treatment methods of traditional Chinese medicine if they cannot prescribe soup. And that state is expected to change.

July 1 this year, China's first "traditional Chinese medicine law" formally implemented. "This is a milestone in the development of Chinese medicine. It puts an end to the dispute over the preservation and abolition of Chinese medicine over the past century." Zhu Guoben, former deputy director of the State Administration of traditional Chinese Medicine and president of the Chinese Society of ethnic Medicine, said that this means that it is illegal for anyone to propose "abolishing traditional Chinese medicine" in the future, and it is also illegal for governments at all levels not to include the development of traditional Chinese medicine in the national economic and social development plan. "Today, the existence and development of traditional Chinese medicine are protected by law, which is a very significant historical progress."

The Law of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a product of certain historical conditions. Therefore, some people in the industry still feel that there are still many "stuck points" in the law of traditional Chinese medicine, and there are many unreasonable constraints on the development of traditional Chinese medicine according to the independent law. Zhu Guoben said that this is the place to be constantly improved and broken through in the future. The legislation of the law of traditional Chinese medicine has gone through 33 years. The reason is that the social understanding is not unified and consistent, and in fact, it still exists today.

Help "return medical treatment to the people" from action"

At present, the country is implementing the national strategy of healthy China, and the related countries attach importance to the health industrial park of traditional Chinese medicine, as well as the characteristic ancient prescription, and the cultivation of original ecological traditional Chinese medicine also usher in development opportunities. Liu Changhua, chairman of the Chinese Medical Culture Cooperation Organization and former director of the Institute of Chinese Medical History and Literature of the Academy of traditional Chinese Medicine, hopes that qualified local governments and enterprises can join hands to do these things.

As a native of Yanting, Gong Zhenxu, dean of Sichuan Institute of Culture and Arts, is trying to develop and spread Qibo's traditional Chinese medicine culture by developing health tourism and other industries in his hometown.

In Su Xun's view, including the integration and development of culture, tourism, ecology, recreation and other fields is one of the ways for the development of Chinese medicine in the future. Western medicine is mainly treatment, while traditional Chinese medicine is all-round treatment, prevention, health preservation and health care. It is the harmony between man and nature, man and man, and man's body and mind. Compared with western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine has a broader depth and room for maneuver. Policy support is the key to the development of traditional Chinese medicine.

Combine the theoretical methods of traditional Chinese medicine with the theoretical methods of modern system science to form knowledge and methods that are simple, so that they can "return medicine to the people". Yu Mengsun believes that only in this way can the 1.3 billion people truly become "the masters of health are themselves", and the focus of medical and health work can be truly implemented to the grassroots, society and families. This is the ultimate goal of medical change. The Chinese are well positioned to play a global leading role in human health issues.
